Bob Marley died almost 4 decades ago but his work like most other artists makes him live through his music even after so many decades.

His last words reflect on the fact that he had understood various aspects of life and also the fact that money is a part of life but love and compassion are what we live for.

His last words, to his son Ziggy, were:

“Money can’t buy life.”

He was a highly successful artist and his songs still do the rounds among youngters all around the world.

Cause of his death

He died because of malignant melanoma (skin cancer), that started from the part of his toe under the nail and spread to his body.

Surprisingly, he could have been saved

When his cancer was detected, Bob Marley was told that his toe would have to be amputated in order to save him from the disease. But Marley refused since that would hinder his performances. 3 years after an alternate treatment, he collapsed while jogging and it was found out that the cancer had spread to his brain. He tried to undergo treatment again but it failed and thus we lost a great musical talent at a raw age of 36 on the 11th of May in 1981.

Bob Marley’s last words of wisdom before death are true even in today’s world of hustle.

The legend though still remains in our hearts as we listen to his music.

At this young age though he had attained great wisdom that can be reflected through his quotes:

‘You never know how strong you are until being strong is your only choice.’
And this is my personal favourite
Truth is everybody is going to hurt you: you just gotta find the ones worth suffering for.

Rest in peace Sir Bob Marley.
